What goes under my feet?
Marquee companies have five main types of flooring:
- Hard floor + Carpet.
- Hard wooden floor.
- Vinyl wooden floor.
These flooring options are arranged in order of increasing price.
Matting is the most affordable option. The matting itself is very thick and durable which helps smooth out small bumps & dips in the ground. Guests in high heels can walk & dance on it easily. Matting is great for rustic theme events or if you want to have a relaxed/informal style of event.
Carpet is the second most affordable option and is a more varied option as you have a selection of colours to choose from. Carpet gives a luxury & formal finish to the marquee. For a good finish with carpet you will need either a flat, hard grassy floor or hard floor + carpet.
Hardwood flooring + carpet
If you want to have a completely flat surface for your marquee event you will need to hire a wooden floor.
During winter or if it rains a lot before your event you may need to hire in wooden flooring as the ground can be to damp to lay carpet on.
Hard wooden flooring without carpet is only really suitable for beer fests or events where you are not trying to achieve a polished finish. As you can see from the image below, hardwood by itself is rustic looking.
If you are looking for a polished wood effect you will need to hire wooden flooring vinyl. The vinyl will roll out on top of carpet or hard wooden floor. This is not a cheap purchase, only consider this if you have a big budget.
